Often on tests, choosing the correct type of essay to write in response to a writing prompt is key to getting the question right.Expository writing is a subject-oriented writing style, in which the main focus of the author is to tell you about a given topic or subject, and leave out his personal opinions. He furnishes you with relevant facts and figures and does not include his opinions. This is one of the most common type of writing styles.There are four types of argument essays like research, persuasive, personal and analysis. You must convince a reader that your argument is better than the other. The clarity of the presentation of your main idea or argument at the beginning of the text is a very momentous component. You have to refute all the views and persuade target readers.
Usually, the expository essay is composed of five paragraphs. The introductory paragraph contains the thesis or main idea. The next three paragraphs, or body of the essay, provide details in support of the thesis. The concluding paragraph restates the main idea and ties together the major points of essay.As well as this it is in the standard written form of the language.There are ten main features of academic writing that are often discussed. Academic writing is to some extent: complex, formal, objective, explicit, hedged, and responsible. It uses language precisely and accurately. It is also well organised and planned.
The four main types of academic writing are descriptive, analytical, persuasive and critical. Each of these types of writing has specific language features and purposes. In many academic texts you will need to use more than one type.
